Overall, the Panasonic TX-P50GT30 possesses an exceptional display, and superb performance.

This 50 inch version of the Panasonic Viera comes with 3D capability. This plasma television, the TX-P50GT30, is Panasonic's mid-level series. This places the television between the ST30, the entry-level Panasonic plasma, and the VT30, their flagship model.

Thanks to the clean lines of the TX-P50GT30, it won't look out of place in your home, or venue. Panasonic paid attention to detail when over-hauling the TX-P50GT30, and gave this television a very contemporary design. The beauty of this display can be attributed, in part, to the smoothly rounded corners, and the silver trim of the bevel. This is a very thin display, measuring in at three centimeters at the top, and increasing to six centimeters at the bottom. The electronics and speakers are the reason behind the increased thickness at the bottom of the television set. Surprisingly, the TX-P50GT30 weighs in at a solid twenty-six kilograms without the stand. The weight of the TX-P50GT30 is something to consider, if you wish to mount it to the wall.

The visual design wasn't the only aspect to be overhauled.

It's surprising that the TX-P50GT30 has the power cable hard wired into the display, as earlier models had a detachable power cord. The connections have also received an upgrade, in this latest model. The connections are placed in a recess in the back, and face downwards. Not only does this make connecting various devices easier, it also help to keep cables neat and tidy. The back recess has connections for SCART, component video, composite video, digital audio out and a headphone socket.

In back, you will also find two USB ports, for re-charging the 3D glasses. A recess on the side has an SD card slot, a USB port for use with HDD, a CI slot and four HDMI connectors, one of which is an Audio Return Channel. The multitude of connections allows you to connect nearly any device to the TXP50GT30B.

When compared to previous models, the TXP50GT30B has clearly been improved upon. The panel and cells have been improved, to offer better colors, smoother images and deeper blacks. The 1080p display allows for clear pictures in both the 2D and 3D modes. A smoother motion is achieved during movies through the use of the 3D 24p Cinema Smoother. This technology is combined with the 600hz Sub-Field Drive to achieve the result of a very natural looking, smooth motion.

For gamers, the TXP50GT30B offers a feature that auto-tunes your settings. Lag and delay are eliminated by this feature, allowing greater responsiveness from the display. This allows even dark scenes to be seen in beautiful detail.

The 3D glasses work with the display to provide vivid 30 images. Those who own a 3D capable camera will appreciate the ability of the TXP50GT30B to display their images beautifully.

Overall, the Panasonic Viera TXP50GT30B provides an excellent display, a great design and stellar performance at a great price. As you can see from this Panasonic TXP50GT30B Review, this is, overall, a television worth investing in.
